Titanium carbide (TiC)
Titanium carbide (TiC)
Titanium carbide (TiC) is a high-quality product in powder form for industry. It is a homogeneous powder with high purity and narrow particle size distribution.
Titanium carbides are used for the production of TiC-based cermets, ceramics and carbides with iron binder. Although the wettability is lower compared to solid solutions, TiC is also used as an additive for P-type WC/Co carbides.

Applications
- Euro 7 compliant coating of brake discs
- Cutting tools for different materials (metal, plastic, wood, glass, stone)
- Micro drills for printed circuit boards
- Tools for milling, turning, deep drawing, pressing and for finishing tool surfaces
- Wear parts, paper knives, rollers, wire drawing tools
- Tools for mining and road construction
Automotive
Carbide powders based on titanium carbide are ideal for coating brake discs.
Further developments in the field of laser deposition welding, including high-speed laser deposition welding, now make it possible to apply a corrosion and wear-resistant surface coating to the existing concept and design of the grey cast iron brake disc that meets the fine dust requirements of Euro 7. This is good for the brake disc and the environment.
