Ytterbium oxide (Yb2O3)
Ytterbium oxide (Yb2O3) is a white powder whose main application is the production of phosphors.
Yb2O3 is used as a catalyst. It is also used in the production of specialty glass, as an additive in the production of arc lamps, in laser applications and in heat-resistant coatings. It is also used as an additive in the production of security pigments for banknotes, documents, bank wrappers and excise stamps.
