Erbium oxide (Er2O3) is a hygroscopic, pink powder used mainly in glass melting where it is used to decolourize and colour glass.
Erbium oxide (Er2O3) is used as a colouring and decolourizing additive in the production of glass for the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. Furthermore, it is used in the production of high-quality table glass (decanters, wine, whisky and cognac glasses) and high-quality glass packaging for spirits, as well as in the nuclear industry in the production of lasers for special applications, and as an additive in ink formulations for security features for documents, bank wrappers and excise stamps, and packaging for high-value products.
