Cerium metal

Cerium metal

Cerium metal is a grey, soft and very ductile metal. It is an alloying component of flints and is used as a dopant in the steel and foundry industries.

Cerium is one of the most highly reactive rare earth metals and oxidizes very rapidly in contact with air and water. It is mainly used as a component of mischmetal, less frequently in pure form. Cerium is an important alloying component in the production of flints and serves as a dopant in the steel and foundry industries. It assists the separation of sulphur and oxygen in the smelting process.

Our cerium metal is available in many shapes and specifications.
